The Lamborghini Miura P400, introduced in 1966, is widely considered the world’s first supercar and a revolutionary icon of automotive design. Created by a team of young engineers led by Gian Paolo Dallara, the Miura broke convention with its mid-engine layout—unusual for road cars at the time—and stunning bodywork penned by Marcello Gandini at Bertone. Powered by a 3.9-liter V12 engine producing 350 horsepower, the P400 could reach speeds of around 170 mph, offering blistering performance that matched its exotic looks. Only 275 units of the original P400 were produced between 1966 and 1969, making it a rare and highly collectible classic today. Its blend of engineering innovation, elegant Italian styling, and motorsport-inspired performance redefined what a road car could be, setting the stage for future Lamborghini legends. The Miura remains one of the most celebrated and influential cars in automotive history.
